The ancient Vedic literature is full of stories about various humanoid beings living in the Universe, flying machines of different size and shape, incredible spaceships, cosmic cities, deadly weapons and nuclear wars.
Were these accounts only vivid imaginations of the ancient people of India? It is unlikely. If more intelligent scholars studied the ancient Indian texts in an objective and serious manner, instead of dismissing them as pure science fiction, it would be most beneficial for the whole human race.
We would be able to learn so much more about the existence of other life-forms in the Universe, our origins, and the role we play in the Universe.
Hinduism is built on mythology as well as philosophy. The philosophical texts are known as the Vedas and the Upanishads. The term Veda comes from the root Vid and means, “to know.” The Veda is divided into four great books: the Rig-Veda, the Yajur -Veda, the Sama-Veda and the Atharva-Veda.
The mythological texts can be found in the Itihasas and the Puranas.
The Itihasas, meaning “histories” consist of four books: the Ramayana, the Yogavasishtha, the Mahabharata and the Harivamsa of which the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are the best known.
The Ramayana describes the life of Rama, which is the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the supreme god in charge of the preservation of the Universe.
The Mahabharata relates the Great War between the cousins Kauravas and Pandavas, an event which occurred during the eight incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
The Puranas offer mythological knowledge concerning incarnations, cosmology, creation, genealogy of the kings and various time cycles. The term Purana means “ancient” and there are totally eighteen Purana books. The most popular among them is the Srimad Bhavagata Purana, which deals with the various incarnations of Vishnu. The Vedas and the Puranas are without any doubt a great contribution to the understanding of the ancient world.
It is believed that the Bhavagata Purana was written in the 9th century AD, the Mahabharata in the 5th century BC., and the Ramayana is dated back to the 6th century BC. However, most Indologists agree that these ancient works describe events, which are much older than the historical periods in which they were written.
It is believed that all three texts can be dated back to at least 3,000 BC.
As already stated before, the ancient Indian texts could very well present a solution to many of our questions concerning life in the Universe. It is a pity that there are hundreds of ancient Indian epics written in Sanskrit the classical language of India and Hindu, which have not yet even been translated into English. According to the Vedic literature “God-men” brought Sanskrit to the Earth.
Dr. V. Raghavan, retired head of the Sanskrit department of the University of Madras in India stated:
“Fifty years of researching this ancient works convinces me that there are living beings on other planets and that they visited Earth as far back as 4,000 BC. There is just a mass of fascinating information about flying machines, even fantastic science fiction weapons that can be found in translations of the Vedas, Indian epics and other ancient Sanskrit text.”
According to another authority, Dr. A.V. Krishna Murty, Professor of Aeronautics at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, it is likely that the ancient Sanskrit texts describe genuine events. The Professor said:
“It is true that the ancient Indian Vedas and other text refer to aeronautics, spaceships, flying machines and even astronauts. A study of the Sanskrit texts has convinced me that ancient India did know the secret of building machines and that those were patterned after spaceships coming from other planets.”
To travel and visit other worlds was not only possible, but also a very realistic matter according to the ancient civilization of India.
This could involve a journey to other star systems, a journey into higher dimensions or even a journey into higher-dimensional regions in other star systems.
The Hindu mythology states that heavenly beings came to Earth in very ancient times. They lived among humans and moved around using flying vehicles of various kinds. The humans themselves are said to be descendents of a race called the Devas, which means”the shining ones”.
